Go Green, Go Clean, Stay Healthy, the Smart Air Purifier Way

Go Green, Go Clean, Stay Healthy, the Smart Air Purifier Way

You are perfectly healthy.

But you live in a home, apartment, flat or any closed space.

If you have a new born baby or are pregnant.

You have children.

You’re over 50.

If you suffer from allergies.

If you’re planning to move to a new home…….

Then you need to think and Act NOW!

80% of the metropolitan population resides in heavily contaminated areas and breathe in incredibly toxic air.

In a study entitled  “The Condition of Global Climate” it was reported that in 2016 outdoor air emissions or exposure to particle matter 2.5 along with indoor air contamination accounted for more than 6 million deaths.

Though we might be ignorant, air quality indoors is almost as bad as air pollution outdoors.

So, is there a way out from this menace?

You need to install a Smart Air Purifier in your home.

What is a Smart Air Purifier?

air purifier

A smart air purifier is an intelligent device that eliminates air pollutants in a room to improve the quality of indoor air.

Such machines are widely advertised as useful air filtration options to patients with allergies and asthma, and also help to reduce or eliminate emitted tobacco smoke in the room and surroundings.

The commercial air purifier market rated air purifiers are either developed as small stand-alone devices or as larger units, air purifier plants that can be connected to an air handler unit (AHU) or an HVAC unit used in the health, industrial and commercial industries.

Air purifiers can also be used in manufacturing before storage to remove impurities from the air. Pressure swing adsorbers or other air filtration methods for adsorption are used for purifying the air.

To sensitive people, dirt, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and dust mite feces can serve as allergens.

Particulate smoke and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can pose a health risk. Exposure to different materials such as VOCs increases the likelihood of asthmas and other signs of sick building syndrome may arise in certain people.

Do Air Purifiers Actually Work?

clean air

Usually air purifiers consist of a filter, or several filters, and a fan blowing in and moving dust. Pollutants and pollutants are collected as air passes into the pipe and the filtered air is forced out into living room.

Filters are usually made from pulp, fiber (often fiberglass), or mesh and need frequent maintenance to preserve performance.

Certain filters are reusable and washable, but require careful maintenance so you don’t normally find them on the most powerful air purifiers.

Reusable devices, such as dust mites and pollen, are usually effective at eliminating larger pollutants from the environment.

You can also find on the market UV filters (ultraviolet light) which also appear to remove biological impurities such as mold or bacteria.

Many air purifiers utilize ionizers to help remove contaminants such as debris— negative ions bind to dust which allergens, which allow them settle out of the air.

If you are involved in using an air cleaner that utilizes ionizers, make sure that it will not contain ozone, a gas consisting of three oxygen atoms that are sometimes advertised as helping to break down contaminants.

Since ozone may be an irritant to the lungs and thus aggravate asthma, typically the ozone air purifiers are mentioned on the box package or in the marketing descriptions.

So… should you buy an air purifier?

Off course, Yes.

Go ahead and get this innovative device below to freshen up your room air.

Give it a new Life!

What is a HEPA filter?

HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air.

HEPA filters catch particles of different sizes inside a multi-layered netting normally constructed from very fine fiberglass fibers (much finer than the thickness of a human hair strand!) with variable differences in duration.

The container is airtight and consisting of a thick layer of plated and sealed tiny fibers in a frame of metal or plastic.

The fan of the air purifier pulls air into the tank, and it catches pollutants in the pipe.

The bigger particles (one bigger than the fibers) are caught by impaction (particle slams through the fiber), mid-sized particles are caught by detection (particle hits the fiber and is trapped), and ultra-fine particles are captured by diffusion (when the particle is finally zig-zagged).

What are the techniques by which a Smart Air Purifier filters air?

air filter

There are primarily two types of air filtration processes – Active and Passive.

Active air purifiers emit negative charged ions into the atmosphere, allowing surfaces to bind to contaminants, whereas passive air filtration systems employ air filters to eliminate pollutants.

Passive purifiers are more effective because all of the dust and particulate matter are permanently removed from the atmosphere and stored in the filters.

What are the filtering methods used by smart air purifiers?

There are several filtering methods used by air purifiers in the air purifier market. We take a look at some of them here:

  • High-efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) – In this method the filters remove at least 99.97% of 0.3-micrometer particles and are generally more efficient in removing larger particles.
  • HEPA purifiers must be arranged so that no air bypasses the HEPA filter, filtering all the air going into a clean room. For dusty conditions, a HEPA filter should adopt a traditional filter (prefilter) that is easily cleaned and eliminates gross impurities so that the HEPA filter needs to be replaced less frequently.
  • Filter HVAC at MERV– In this method , The filter retention frequency of particles ranging from 0.3 to 1.0 micrometers is at least 75%.
  • Although a MERV filter’s collection rate is lower than a HEPA filter, in the same period of time a central air system will move significantly more moisture.
  • It can be more effective to use a high-grade MERV filter than using a high-powered HEPA system at a fraction of the initial capital cost invested.

  • Polarized-media digital air cleaners combine elements of both electronic air cleaners and passive mechanical filters using active digitally enhanced screen.
  • Most polarized-media digital air cleaners use 24-volt DC voltage to create the electrical field of polarization. Many molecules in the atmosphere are magnetic, and many are also bi-polar. As the particles in the air travel through the electric field the polarized field restraints the particle to stick to a disposable fiber media pad.
  • Photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) is another latest technology in the HVAC industry and will pick up much traction in 2020.
  • In addition to the promise of advantages for indoor air quality (IAQ), it has the additional ability to reduce the absorption of unconditioned air into the building space, thereby providing an opportunity to achieve energy savings over previous prescriptive models.

Can a HEPA Air Purifier Capture the Coronavirus?

Well the Answer is YES and NO.

Air purifiers with HEPA filtration will trap contaminants that are the size of the current Coronavirus easily but often have wondered whether air purifiers will help guard against infection.

The response in principle is Yes, but in fact it is mostly No.

The COVID-19 triggering virus has a diameter of roughly 0.125 micron (125 nanometres). This lies well within the particle size spectrum with exceptional quality produced by HEPA filters: 0.01 micron (10 nanometers) and beyond.

Many media sources have wrongly reported that filters with HEPA will not filter below 0.3 microns and thus cannot detect the current coronavirus.

This conclusion however is totally false.

But that doesn’t imply that you should be safe by the use of an Air Purifier.

Although experts are still studying how the modern coronavirus spreads, the general opinion is that it is not an infectious virus and it is the stance of both the CDC and other public health organizations.

Experts assume instead that the coronavirus is spread through person-to-person touch and through virus-laden droplets shed through the coughing and sneezing of an infected individual.

Coughs and sneezes definitely indicate that certain humans are “airborne,” but these droplets fly just about 6 feet until they slip out of the air and land on surfaces.

This is one explanation why health authorities globally advocate “physical distancing” of 6-foot(2-meter) and associated measures including routine handwashing and surface disinfection as the primary means of shielding oneself.

Let us also reason out that Air Purifiers should not be the first line of defense against the Corona Virus.

A preliminary research study indicates that the virus behind COVID-19 may become aerosolized and stay airborne for many hours, but the writers of the report notice that even though this happens to be the case, the chief mode of transmission will still stay person-to-person communication.

Since experts already realize, air isn’t the medium that spreads the infection, so air purifiers shouldn’t be deemed safe. Go into isolation.

Regularly wash your mouth, and clean often affected objects. An air purifier with HEPA won’t hurt. Yet it is definitely not going to improve as well!

What are the criteria for buying a smart home air purifier?

Here are some of the important criteria for you to select the best air purifiers:

1. Certifications

There are a few tags on the package that you might want to look for. The first is the emblem of the Energy Star.

To be efficient, air purifiers will work around the clock, and you should be factoring in the cost of energy while shopping.

Purifiers approved by Energy Star are 40% more energy-efficient than standard models.

You can also see an AHAM Verifide seal, meaning the model has been tested by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.

Though optional, most air purifiers have completed the certification program of AHAM, which provides the seal with clean air distribution levels (CADRs) and room size guidance.

CADR indicates, in cubic feet per minute, the volume of clean air that an air purifier can produce on its highest speed set.

2. Cost of Filter Replacement

You should replace filters (or clean those that can be cleaned) for pleated filters every six to 12 months, and activated carbon filters every three months. Most of the smart home air purifier devices have an indicator to tell you when to change the filter (or clean it up).

3. Noise

Rate an air purifier not only because of how well it operates, but also because of how well you can work with it. We should always run these machines, and ideally, we should be quiet as well.

 4. Room Size
If an air purifier has an AHAM Verifide seal, you can be assured that the device will be able to handle the recommended seal room size.
Be cautious, however, about the representations of manufacturers. We’ve checked most air purifiers that don’t match their claimed room sizes.
Depending on their test results, you can review our scores to see what room size scope we recommend for each model.

FAQ On Smart Air Purifier

Switch the fan speed to small if you are thinking about energy consumption. (Luckily, most air purifiers don't even need almost the same amount of energy as your computer). For a few hours you can't operate an air purifier, then expect the air to remain clear.

The device should be put squarely on the floor. For full filtration, several are needed to be located in the center of the room; if this is a issue, search for devices that have 360-degree filtration, which can be positioned 6 inches away from the ground

In brief, use an air purifier to clean a room within 30 minutes to 2 hours. To have a realistic estimation of the period taken to clean a space, you'd need to add in the purifying capacity of the air purifier, the scale of the space and the intensity of the fan the device would operate.

When you have dirt, hair or pollen in the pipe, you can say whether an air purifier is functioning properly, just not sufficiently to totally clog it up. Chances are it would need to be repaired if it's too dusty. Bear in mind that this only functions for HEPA purifiers, as carbon filters do not display any symptoms of ageing from outside.

Place the air purifier away from doors, furniture and other items that would interrupt the air movement, so the air will move easily through, out and across the device. Place your air purifier recommendations: Position it at least 10 cm/4 inches away from any possible obstacles. Try to avoid placing them near corners.

You can operate your air purifier comfortably for around 12 hours a day, with this assumption. That will (again, depending on your unit) run through the filter device at least 72 times with all the air in your room.

The fast response to "Hot air purifiers out of the sun" is no.... Even the polluting contaminants like dust, dust mites, pet fur, pet dander, algae, pollen... are captured by the air purifier, which is unable to eliminate the air moisture. Low humidity becomes more usual when cool air becomes present inside.

The typical air purifier uses 550 kilowatt hours of power a year, about about as much capacity as a conventional refrigerator, according to Energy Star. When it comes to energy saving, pick an air purifier with the Energy Star logo.

Air purifiers may reduce the snoring caused by airborne particulate reactions. These particles will block your nose and irritate your throat, causing inflammation of the airway which contributes to snoring. Cleaning the air using an air purifier has proven very useful for: the sufferers of Hay fever.

In our scores, the air purifiers that perform well remove dust, smoke, and pollen from the air. Although the health benefits of using air purifiers differ from person to person and depend on the types of contaminants in your household, it is essentially your decision whether an air purifier is worth paying for and using.
